ACTIONSCRIPT: MOOCK FLASH TIMETRACKER

moock flash timetracker
if you want to find out how long your movie takes to play, or if you want to synch sounds and events to time (or if you just like gadgets), you can use the moock flash timetracker to keep track of time in your movie. the timetracker displays the total time elapsed in your movie, the total number of frames that have passed (including frames in loops), and a second tracker (with a pulse sound). using the "make mark" button, you can grab time indexes and corresponding frame numbers while the movie is playing. write 'em down and trade them with your friends! or give them to your audio producer to use as cues in their sound files.

the moock flash timetracker is fully moock fps speedometer compatible.

here's what it looks like in action:

adding the moock flash timetracker to your movies
  1. download the .zipped fla file of the timetracker.
  2. open the fla file to which you want to add the timetracker.
  3. create a new layer in your movie named "moock timetracker".
  4. open the fla file of the timetracker .
  5. in the timetracker fla file, you'll see a single movie clip on a layer called "moockTimeTracker". copy that movie clip (edit>>copy), and paste it onto the "moock timetracker" layer of your other movie (*important* you must use "copy/paste" so the instance name of the movie clip is retained).
  6. export your movie and watch the timetracker go. a couple of tips on using it: 1) you can drag the timetracker around by its title bar 2) use the arrows under the "make mark" button to view your marks 3) you can disable the sound by removing the "second sound" layer in the movie clip called "moock: second indicator: mc".
  7. when you want to export your movie without the timetracker, simply make the "moock timetracker" layer into a guide layer.
