hi david,
good timing with your question...I just finished the complete first 
draft of Essential ActionScript 3.0. :)

the book is scheduled to be released in June. around that time, I expect 
to return to unity development. my first priority will be to finish up 
the current featureset in ActionScript 2.0, and port metro's uClientCore 
to ActionScript 3.0. I have a feeling we will not release an 
ActionScript 2.0 version of unity 3's uClientCore.

meanwhile, derek has unofficially been very actively working on the 
server. i say "unofficially" because we do not have any formal release 
dates or plans at this point, but we are still personally committed to 
releasing unity 3.

we'll definitely post a message here if we have anything official to 
announce.
