  * actionscript bootcamp
  * eas2 translations

/**
 * actionscript bootcamp
 */

i'm doing a 3-day actionscript training course this spring in toronto,
canada. details here:
http://www.fitc.ca/bootcamp/

note that the march session is pretty much full (there are only a few spots
left on days 1 and 3) but you can join the waiting list for may's session.
just email shawn pucknell at:

pucknell@flashinto.com

put "boot camp" in the subject of your mail and indicate that you want to
sign up for may's course (specific dates to be determined).

here's the official description:

"Join internationally renowned Flash programmer Colin Moock for three days
of intense ActionScript training in Toronto, Canada. Covering the latest
Flash MX 2004 programming techniques, this diverse three-day course starts
with absolute basics (perfect for designers and non-programmers) and quickly
progresses to advanced topics such as object-oriented programming and design
patterns. Enjoy one, two, or all three days."

/**
 * eas2 translations
 */
essential actionscript 2.0 (www.moock.org/eas2) is now available in french
(http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASIN/2841773132/) and chinese
(http://moock.org/eas2/tw/).

/**
 * new component skinning article
 */
i recently posted an article called " skinning the V2 ProgressBar
component". read it here:

http://moock.org/asdg/technotes/skinningV2ProgressBar/

learn what a v2 component skin is, how it compares to styles, how to alter
the skin of a component, and see a ProgressBar redesigned right before your
very eyes. the end of the article also discusses an alternative to skinning
the notoriously petulant Button component.

what fun.
