Spring Tulips
This is a few of years ago, and you can really see how short the
cedar trees are through the back of the arbor. Around the end of May is
peak tulip time in my garden (I plant them deep to deter squirrels). I plant the tulips right under the
lawn, and simply mow them back a few weeks after they are finished
flowering. I know this prevents them from fully rejuvenating, but I
haven't had any problems yet. The grape over the arbor is very late in
budding. Usually the leaves aren't fully out until the end of June.
You may walk through to the little
forest to see what it looks like in the spring.
