- a clickable atlas of the world. gives kinda cruddy images, but you can find any country easily and search for cities, states, and countries by name.
merriam-webster dictionary
- a good (and free) online dictionary and thesaurus. not the oed, but then the oed ain't free.

- type an address from a major city anywhere in the world, and you get a map indicating where your target is located.

- an encyclopedia of western signs and ideograms. search by word or browse the icons graphically.
world fact book
- kick ass information on the worlds countries. find out how many phone lines are in a country!
