- web news, moderated resources, and webmaster style tools (gif optimizer, load checker, html validator etc) at this portal launched in may 99 by webtrends, the makers of site statistics software.

- wired's reliable tutorial/resource/info site for web development and design.
- evolt.org
- a community site run by web developers for web developers. articles written by contributors and comments made by anyone in the community. up to date and some good gems here. nice to look at as well, and adds an interesting customizable interface to the traditional zine style site.
- irt.org
- hard-core amounts of info on building websites. straightforward writing with lots of examples. great and extensive faqs on the typical web building topics (javascript, dom, css, forms etc). super resource.
