Posted by: colin at April 26, 2004 05:07 PMRe: Linking for different countries...
What I did (as an experiment) with my blog's Amazon search tool is to determine the visitor's country and display one of three different Amazon links (.com, .ca, .co.uk). 26 countries that fall into the UK branch gets the UK link, visitors from Canada get the .ca link, and the rest of the world gets .com (for now).
Posted by: Dave Yang at April 24, 2004 04:52 AMYes, I third the amazon.ca link. I'll wait for a couple of days and check back before I order it...
Posted by: Marcos at April 23, 2004 10:31 PMre: the link to amazon.ca...if i link to .ca, then i have to link to amazon.co.uk, amazon.fr, etc, etc. i'll stick to the .com for my affiliate membership, but obviously you can/should use the retailer that's most convenient for you, amazon or otherwise. (it's interesting...the amazon affiliate link actually earns me more per book than my royalty! hehe...note to self: book writing not working as get-rich-quick scheme ;)
thanks for the orders guys. i hope/believe the book is worth it...
Posted by: colin at April 23, 2004 12:13 PMTo second Rob's comment, make that "bump x 2". :)
Keep up the good work Colin, along with the gravity-defying mohawk. ;)
Posted by: Layth Barzangi at April 23, 2004 06:16 AMYes, a link to amazon.ca would be useful for you (and me) :)
Posted by: Kuan-Jian Foo at April 23, 2004 12:41 AMColin, you really should have a link to Amazon.ca (Canada)...
Posted by: marc vezina at April 22, 2004 11:28 PMCool deal! Congrats on the launch and consider your Amazon Affiliate total order count just bumped up by 1. :) -Rob
